Our comprehensive travel insurance policy includes cover for medical and hospital expenses, loss or damage to personal items, travel delays, cancellation of travel and legal liability. It offers protection while you are travelling.
To benefit from this cover, all you have to do is to purchase your travel tickets using your Banif Credit Card. The offer is available for the card holder, spouse, partner (if cohabiting for more than 6 months), children up to the age of 18 or 23 years old if in full time education. Purchase Protection Insurance
Banif Credit Card holders can also benefit from a complimentary Purchase Protection Insurance. Our policy provides protection against loss, theft or damage for a wide range of personal goods purchased using your Banif Credit Card.
Card holders are automatically covered for 90 days from date of purchase and the insurance covers items purchased with your Banif Credit Card, both in Malta and when travelling abroad. Claims have to be made within 45 days from the date of loss or damage.

No matter where you travel in the world, you can call the Visa Global Customer Assistance Service number 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and a customer service representative will be at hand to help you. You can call the operator on 1 443 641 2004 for assistance.
You can lodge a lost or stolen card report, arrange for a replacement card or emergency cash delivery with your financial institution’s approval, and make any other Visa card-related inquiry.
To best assist the customer service representative, please have this information at hand:
Name of your Bank - Banif Bank (Malta) plc;
Card Type (e.g. Visa Gold, Visa Classic);
Country where the card was issued - Malta;
Exact cardholder name as printed on the card;
Billing Address - where your credit card statement is sent each month;
Home phone number;
Circumstances of the loss or theft;
Your identification verification information, as provided when you applied for your card (e.g. date of birth, mother's maiden name or similar).
If you know your full sixteen (16)-digit credit card number, this information will help reduce the time it takes to cancel your lost or stolen credit card.

Security Features
The cards are equipped with the new EMV Chip technology which enhances security. This new technology requires the use of the PIN to authorise purchases, replacing the need to sign a transaction receipt.
