Assistant Branch Manager - Retail Banking Unit

The Bank is seeking to recruit an Assistant Branch Manager to join its Retail Banking Unit.

We are a leading financial institution, a key player in the Maltese market and part of a highly diversified multi-national group of companies. Employing a team of 200 employees, the Bank offers a full range of lending and savings solutions to both personal and business customers. 

Key responsibilities

You will be required to:

  • assist the Branch Manager in the overall management of the Branch 
  • perform tasks related to the promotion, negotiation, and decision making within the signatory powers delegated for all credit operations 
  • assist in obtaining new deposits for the branch and perform other activities to achieve the Branch team and the Bank's objectives for profitability, safety and business growth. 

The incumbent is expected to constantly liaise with Branch Manager in solving complex problems and to plan and organise his/her own activities and of the employees under his/her supervision. 

Competencies and experience

The potential candidate should also have a positive attitude, be well-organised, with a disposition to learn and a meticulous and team-oriented approach to work.

You must also:

  • ideally possess a degree in Business Management, Banking and Finance or related field
  • demonstrate excellent people management skills 
  • have knowledge of banking accounting and fundamentals 
  • be proficient with MS Office applications 
  • provide excellent customer service levels 
  • be solution driven 
  • ideally have two years' experience as commercial supervisor or minimum of five years' banking, ideally having experience at two or more branches.
